This plugin has many advantages designated to overcome problems that every SEO expert and non-expert encounters when working with Joomla! websites.
Smart SEO will help you overcome problems with components’ SEO compatibility and accessibility to certain pages such as category blog layouts, forum pages, virtuemart categories and products, sobi2 entries and all other popular components.

Smart SEO does not remove or edit you existing meta-tags! your current tags will be used unless you have not specified any other values for them using the plugin. You can always go back to using them by clearing all the fields on the Smart SEO panel and clicking apply. With Smart SEO you can edit Meta tags and title attributes for every page and component!

NEW VERSION 0.7C
The new version includes a great new feature – Indicating lights! now you can quickly tell if you’ve added information for the current page, just by looking at the top panel!

Also in this version, as asked by many of our users:
Added an ACL option for the plugin, allowing you to set Smart SEO Panel visibility option for a certain user access level and up!
This is great if you have someone else doing your SEO for you and you don’t want them to have Super Admin access to your website.

A component that help you upgrade your old sites from Joomla version 1.5 to 1.6 and keeps your Google Rank safe. Now upgrade to Joomla v1.6 is easy and safe. The component read directly from your old 1.5 db and save to the new 1.6 db using core Joomla 1.6 functions. By utilizing the Joomla core functions the loaded components are build in the database, as if you create them manually, except we keep the ids. That means 100% compatibility, stability and utilization of the new Joomla features (expanded access control system and nested categories).

The component is able to load from your old 1.5 database to the new the following:

Users

Articles (along with their Sections and Categories)

Contacts

Web Links

News Feeds

Banners

Images

Menus

Modules

Majority of Templates (Only core templates files are migrated. Some templates comes with additional extensions e.g modules. Those are not migrated.)

Why?

Why upgrade to Joomla 1.6?

Different and Improved Access Control System – Administrators have control over who can view and manage content.

Unlimited Depth Organizational Model – Introduces user-defined category levels that allow the creation of a category tree with as many or as few levels for organizing articles and other content as needed.

Automated Extension Updates – Keep your sites secure and controlled by simplifying and automating the process of updating extensions.

Semantic XHTML Layouts – Provides a better baseline for content presentation.

Why use this component to upgrade?

It does the job – Yes it migrates Joomla 1.5 to 1.6. See below the requirements.

Simple – The process is… simple. No technical knowledge is required.

Automation – Migrate process is fully automated.

Compatibility – Loading process simulates human manual creation resulting all content to be fully compatible and ready to utilize the new Joomla features.

Language – All languages are supported.

Same id’s – Where possible the id’s of everything is kept the same. The only id’s changed are those of sections. That means Google ranking unharmed and no broken links within your articles.

Support – Free support and release updates for one year.

Installation

Steps to install the component are those of a normal Joomla extension installation. The component is installed on your Joomla version 1.6 site.

Download the component

Upload and install from Joomla 1.6 back-end extension manager.

After the installation you are automatically redirected to the component.

That’s it!!!

Requirements

PHP 5.x

Joomla 1.6

Joomla 1.5.xx *

Migration of images and templates is not working on Windows environment.
The component is tested thoroughly with Joomla 1.5.22. It does migrate older versions but if you are running Joomla 1.5.11 or lower you will need some manual corrections on the menus.
How to upgrade

The upgrade process is very simple:

Install Joomla v1.6 Do not to install sample data.

Fill the version 1.5 database information. If you are not sure what to put here you should ask your provider.

Press button “Upgrade”

Test. Before you move to production test your new v1.6 site.

See below sample image.
You can have it randomly pull just one article or multiple articles. You have the option of specifying how the articles are displayed: Title, Intro Text and Body; you can turn each one on or off allowing you full control over what is shown. You also have the ability to pull just a single content item that is not random to simply display a content item in any module position. Give this module a shot and let us know what you think by using the review system at JED. If you give suggestions on how to make the module better, you will most likely be added in the next release, so take advantage! You can easily style this module with CSS using the module class suffix option! This module is completely Joomla 1.5 Native, meaning it does not require the ‘Legacy Plugin’.

Here is a list of just some of the available features:

Have the module show a new random article each day or each page load

Specify to pull from a single or multiple categories or sections

Ability to display single article ( not random )

Specify whether to show title, intro or body ( or any combination of the three )

Specify whether to link the title, intro or body to the article

CSS Styleable

Limit the number of characters or words shown

Ability to strip out HTML tags to remove images and formatting

Customizable ‘Read More’ link option

It supports embedding both local and remote(CDN) scripts.

With it, you’ll be able to embed a list of scripts to every page of the site. As well, the plugin supports in-article tags – {embedscript}path{/embedscript} to embed scripts only to specific pages. Those tags can be not only in articles, but as well in modules etc – anywhere in html.

Besides frontpage you can embed another list of scripts to adminpanel (but be careful! do no embed anything to joomla administrator interfece unless you are completely sure about what are you doing).
The plugin also contains a list of CDN URLs of popular javascript frameworks in its administrator interface.

If you are going to embed jQuery, you’d better use my jQuery++ Integrator, a special extension that correctly handles possible mootools-jQuery conflict, can add jQuery UI & jQuery Tools as well, supports CDNs and has many other features.

Remember not to put a space beetween path and closing tag: {embedscript} path{/embedscript}. This requirement will be removed in the next version.
