Zenni Optical and discussion about PD

June 26th, 2010 Bambangxp 0 Comments

At an online forum provided by Optiboard.com, eyecare professionals talk about PD where many of their patients ask about their PD. You can find the discussion about that at the forum entitled “Got Asked for a PD Today (First Time)”. Most of the eyecare professionals in the forum agree that PD is actually not their responsibility even you couldn’t pay them enough to do that. The conclusion that I could catch from the discussion is that there is NO PD for you from Opticians.

Got Asked for a PD Today (First Time)

This afternoon I had a 20 something women approach me and sheepishly ask if I could measure her "pupil distance," as her eye doctor wouldn’t do it for her.
I told her that I wouldn’t. Actually you couldn’t pay me enough to do that for anyone.

I wonder how others deal with this relatively new phenomenon?
I welcome you to share your experiences.

What is PD? PD or Pupillary Distance is the distance between the center of one eye and the center of the other eye. It is very important for opticians to determine the right position of the lenses when they are placed into the eyewear frames, so opticians will store PD information on their files to be opened when their patients come back to get eyewear. However, when you purchase eyewear from Zenni Optical, you will get this information included on your prescription. Thumbs up for Zenni! Only these words for you, “Zenni: the #1 online eyeglasses store”.
